Yangon Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Yangon Division Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established on May 29, 1991 at no. 17/19, Boywe street, Latha Township, Yangon. The Central Executive Committee of 24 members guided the Chamber.

Yangon Division Commodity Exchange Centre was opened at the same building, on June 1, 1991.

When Bayintnaung, Mayangone Township was constructed as a Wholesale Market Zone, Various wholesale warehouses, already had opened in downtown area, ware settled at Bayintnaung, Mayangone Township. At the same time the Yangon Division Commodity Exchange Centre also opened the market at no. A/74 , Gantgaw Street , Banyintnaung on September 1, 1992. In the end of May, 1993 , The Centre shifted to no. B/ 81 Khaye Street.

Nowadays, Yangon Division Commodity Exchange Centre Constructed the new Building at recent place, no. B/ 81-82 , Gantgaw Street, Banyintnaung , Mayangone Township, Yangon.

According to the constitution of Myanmar, Yangon Division is called as Yangon Region, Yangon Division Chamber of Commerce and Industry was rename as Yangon Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Yangon Division Commodity Exchange Centre was Yangon Region Commodity Exchange Centre in September, 2010.

The number of Member of Yangon Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry was as:

1. At the end of year 1994     567 persons,
2. At the end of year 1995     900 persons,
3. At the end of year 1997     1022 persons,
4. At the end of year 1999     1831 persons,
5. At the end of year 2001     2135 persons,
6. At the end of year 2003     3012 persons,
7. At the end of year 2005     3314 persons,
8. At the end of year 2008     3825 persons,
9. At the end of year 2010     4099 persons,
9. At the end of year 2012     4164 persons,
9. Nowadays     4219 persons,

In this year, the Executive Committee, took part in 26 Central Executive Committee Members & 21 Executive Committee Members, supervise the Commodity Exchange Centre’s activies.
